Terms, payments & refunds
These terms summarize how Erin Walker Design LLC ("Erin Walker Design", "we", "us") works with clients ("you"). Each project is governed by a signed design agreement. If that agreement and this page differ, the signed agreement controls.
Services
We provide interior design services and furnishing specifications for builders, developers and homeowners in the United States. Services may include consultations, space planning, furnishing, lighting and finish selections, design presentations and revisions, and detailed specification sheets. We do not provide general contracting, project management of contractors, architecture or engineering. The scope, price and billing method for each project are set out in its design agreement before work begins.
Consultations
The first consultation is free and creates no obligation for either of us.
Fees and billing
- Flat-fee projects: a 50% deposit is due before work begins, and the remaining 50% is due at completion.
- Hourly projects: time is billed every two weeks at the hourly rates in your agreement, including revisions. Some hourly projects begin with a retainer, which is credited against your invoices.
- Site visits and travel, when needed, are billed at the travel rate in your agreement, plus travel costs for trips beyond 30 miles. Other out-of-pocket project expenses are billed as incurred.
- Any estimates we give are our best judgment at the time and are not a guarantee of final time or cost.
Furnishings and purchases
We do not purchase merchandise on your behalf. Your specification sheet lists each item with its vendor, finish, quantity and link, and you or your team purchase directly from the vendor. Prices, availability, shipping, returns and warranties are set by each vendor.
Payment
- Invoices are due on receipt.
- You can pay online by credit or debit card or by US bank transfer (ACH). Online payments are processed securely by Stripe, and we never see or store your full card or bank account number.
- You can also pay by Zelle, Venmo or check, using the details on your invoice.
- Some payment methods qualify for a discount, shown on your invoice. The total on your invoice is the regular price; there is no surcharge for paying by card.
- A late fee of $10 is added to an invoice that remains unpaid 60 days after it is issued.
Refunds and cancellations
- Either of us may end a project at any time with written notice. To cancel, email hello@erinwalkerdesign.com.
- Payments for work already performed are non-refundable. This includes design fees, revisions, travel and expenses.
- If a project ends early, you pay for the work performed through the end date, at the hourly rates in your agreement. Any prepaid amount not used for that work, such as the unused part of a deposit or retainer, is refunded.
- Refunds are issued to the original payment method where possible, within 14 days of the end date. Card and bank refunds can take an additional 5 to 10 business days to appear.
- If you have a question about a charge, please contact us first. We'll respond promptly and work to resolve it.
Your design
Our designs, drawings and specifications remain our work. Your agreement gives you the right to implement them in your project. We may photograph completed projects for our portfolio and marketing, and we never share your name or address without your permission.
Responsibility
Manufacturers, vendors, carriers, contractors and installers are responsible for their own products, deliveries and work. Limits on our responsibility are set out in your design agreement.
Changes
We may update this page from time to time. The agreement you sign for a project governs that project.
